If you subscribe to my monthly newsletter you know how much I love a good list. I like my information in small bite sized chunks. I like them interesting and fun, things that make for good dinner party conversation nuggets. Not that anyone actually attends dinner parties anymore, but you know what I mean. That being said the monthly newsletter will still exist, but I’m going to try and start a weekly listical of things I have done, consumed, seen, thought deep thoughts about, watched, listened to - you get the drill.
Do you ever feel like none of the great art exhibits ever come to your town? No offense Austin but after going to the Moma, Tate, Musée d’ Orsay and more in the last year I always feel a little disappointed and jealous. I’m just salty that I saw there is a new Leigh Bowery exhibit opening at The Tate Modern this year and I can’t go. Have you ever heard the Creative Queso podcast interview I did with Mondo Guerra of Project Runway fame? We have an entire discussion about the facekini.
Who else is watching White Lotus? I’m not hooked yet, but curious and into most things involving Parker Posey. Did you know when the guy playing Parker Posey’s husband had that heated phone call this week it was with Ke Huy Kwan? I know he’s an Oscar winning actor now but he will always be Data from The Goonies to me.
I’m sure you’ve seen the news that JoAnn Stores are going out of business. Heck even Jimmy Kimmel is talking about it. Is your local JoAnn store having a sale yet? Mine in South Austin just had a few random 20% off things which is not really all that exciting. I hate to be a vulture and the crafty body is not even cold - but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. Oh and one time I did a campaign for JoAnn with these cute embroidery hoop photo thingies.
Sometimes I work with kids and tweens. This week I needed to get to know a fresh batch of 8-10ish year olds so I tried out one page zine making. I saw the idea twice this week from
with his Read Like an Artist Zine and and her Your Story Zine so it seemed like a sign. Throw in some prompt questions about themselves, brush pens from Sakura and a stack of Pipsticks stickers and they were totally into it.
It’s a Christmas miracle! I posted on both of my Instagram channels. Trolls and Girlies oh my! What’s next? A dance on TikTok or a video on You Tube? Geez, slow down Jennifer your once a month posting schedule is getting out of control.
Tune in next week for another free random round-up in the Glue Gun Gazette and remember if you wanted to subscribe that would be awesome. I also have a paid subscriber option if you want to help fund my troll doll flea market hunts.
