Sarah Thompson is not only a dear friend of mine, she is also a kindred spirit in that she love a good flea market and she is also a Jill of many crafty trades. I for one have taken creative classes with her like stained glass, watercolor, jewelry making, embroidery, purse construction and of course we have glued stuff to stuff together.

When she puts the hot glue gun down and takes her foot off the sewing machine long enough you can find her working as the gallery director for Roadhouse Relics in Austin which she co-owns with her husband artist and author Todd Sanders.

Sarah was gracious enough to give us a tour of her 1969 craft trailer conveniently parked just steps from her back door.

What is your preferred type of crafting? I know like me you are kind of all over the place with what you like to make. Is there a favorite?

That's a hard one because it differs by day. Sometimes all I want to do is paint or sew or make decorations for whatever holiday is coming up. I also love creating with my husband Todd Sanders who is a professional neon artist. He thinks I married him for his jig saw. He is only partially right but I love that together we can make anything we dream up.

If I was forced to choose I'd say any Christmas related craft. While I re-use decorations, I try to come up with a different theme each year. Most recently I've done Retro Las Vegas, Kitschy Barbie, and Vintage British.

Can you tell us a bit about the actual trailer like the size, year and where you found it.

It’s a 10’ 1969 Aristocrat Lil Loafer. We bought it from a fellow artist friend of my husband’s. It was parked in a neighborhood close to Camp Mabry here in Austin.
