I realize today is Saturday the 14th, not Thursday the 12th as the subject line implies but let’s pretend this weekly newsletter is not late. Last week was NUTS - I went to Dallas, took my daughter to a Kpop concert, was a creative guide at a week long kids art camp, taught a bookbinding class and booked a vacation to Mexico. My favorite was getting to visit the Dallas Museum of Art to see a Kusama infinity room and check out a Marisol exhibit. Are you familiar with Marisol Escobar? I’m kinda of obsessed with her sculptures.
Art museums and kid campers with the occasional skinned knees reminded me of an article I saw in Cool Hunting. The Met collaborated with Band-Aid on some Katsushika Hokusai booboo strips. If you are more team MOMA check out their Yoshitomo Nara collab bandages. I’ve been rationing the Flying Tiger Plasters I bought last year in Switzerland. Why buy flesh toned bandaids when there are so many fun options out there?
Tomorrow is Father’s Day and if you need a last minute card idea I got you. Pop over to HGTV to see ideas you can whip up tonight. Also, I loved this list of 25 Questions To Bring You Closer To Your Mom from the New York Times. There is no reason you can’t tweak most of them for dad.
Happy Pride Month! If you thought the Easter bonnets were extra in New York wait until you see the outfits at this Medieval themed Pride event. The 2nd annual Pilgrimage to Pride was hosted by the always hilarious Greedy Peasant and Yuliya Tsukerman. You had me at craft stations.
Corpus Christi here I come! If you live in the area and are feeling crafty come and see me Saturday June 21st at Sew Bonita. I will be teaching my Framed Floral Fun Class - one of my favorites. Check out the podcast interview I did a few years back with Sew Bonita owners Elena and Gerald Flores.
Did you read A Crafty Guide to Productive Pauses During the Slow Times, see my interview with Timm Sevitz or check to see if I am teaching a workshop near you?
